I Had Planned....

To post more often this year.....
Well, real life gets in the way.
Someone should abolish real life don't you think?

Anyway, I'm still alive,
not a lot of proof for that though :)
Summer Downunder is not the best time for needlework
of any sort, least of all crochet
but here's a pic of something I did before Christmas.

  12. I know what you mean by real life getting in the way, but it beats the alternative. I so love your cute ducks. I also love your occupation in your profile as 'Dog Slave'. I hear you on that. We share our home with three dogs, a budgie and a cockatiel.

    1. You're right about the alternative Sharee! Mind you, heaven would be miniature time all the time!! Heheh, your home sound familiar, more pets than people. Four dogs, one goldfish and one guinea pig named Feral Cheryl are all I currently slave for, gone are the days when I had a small zoo ;) Glad you enjoyed the ducks!!

  13. Ah Susan! I see that you have all your ducks in a row! :)
Just when we need a Microcrochetmad fix, you step up to the plate to show us again, all of your wonderful needlework. I don't know how you do it Susan but you certainly do it well! Working this small would drive me... quackers! heeheehee :))

    1. Heehee Elizabeth, you got it! Make the most of it though, this is the one and only time my ducks will ever be in a row :)) most people think miniaturists are quackers but I like the company!

  17. The little ducks are so cute and right on time for Easter cuteness. I wish it was hot here in Texas. We've had a horribly cold winter.

  18. Hi Caroline! Spring isn't far away for you in the north and I'm relieved to say another summer is almost over Downunder - I heard a Currawong chortling only a couple of days ago, a happy sound heralding cooler days ahead. Glad you enjoyed the ducks!

    1. Hi there Mercedes! How nice to see you :) those duckies were fun, the cheeky little things weren't as easy as I'd like to get the shape right but with so few stitches it's always a challenge.

  22. ooh i love ducks, is there a pattern to make them?
    greetings valerie

    1. I started with three free patterns found online and ended up with a dozen "dead duck corpses" in the rubbish bin before I got the shape I wanted. Using finer thread and smaller hooks won't make a life size pattern into a miniature.

  23. So so so adorable!!!!! Incredibly, wonderfully and most adorably..I am quite speechless with charm, Susan :). I have 3 of these ducklings in my bathroom and my housemate brought the Duck Race (a bunch of these rubber duckies racing in the river) to Singapore :).

    1. Hello sweet Sans! Heheh, glad the duckies made you smile. Duck races are fun aren't they? We have one here to raise funds for charity. My little ducks prefer to sit on their lilypad and watch ;)
