Hilda Grace Does Zen

Hullo my dear friends,
if you're still here, thank you for your patience!

Yes, that's right, Hilda Grace has been zen crocheting ;-)
She loves the Aussie Summer about as much as I do,
which is not at all.
The heat drives away thoughts of miniature threadwork,
enter zen crochet - simple, calming and repetitive.
It helps if you can create something useful whilst zen hooking!

Hilda Grace and I put our heads together and decided
we could both use a potholder.

That's one of Lidi's baskets,
perfect for apples!
The cat is rather ho-hum about the whole thing ;)

Mine is made from pre-loved 100% wool that I had on hand,
Hilda Grace has more choice so she went with colours
to match her Daffodil Teacosy.

Apologies for the foggy photos,
my camera lense is fogged up with the humidity,
it doesn't like summer either ;)

RL dogs are getting pushy about their dinner
so TTFN
and I'll try not to be so long saying G'day next time!!

  3. I love the swap you both had, Susan ;)! Your potholders are great, the big one and the small one! Everywhere in the blogworld I see popping up spring colors, but for your continent it is getting autumn, strange thought for me on the other half of the world, isn't it ;)? I love your matching tea-cosy and the basket with red juicy apples :D!

    1. Yes Ilona, it's funny thinking of the other half of the world having opposite seasons when we are all tired of the season we are having! Heheh, maybe we should organise a pot holder swap :) they're very popular in RL!

  6. Love your pot holders :) your mini setting is great. Nice to see you posting again. You've had a hot summer whereas we've been battered with rain and wind. You've just reminded me how things 'steamed up' when we lived in Africa:) hope you're keeping okay?

    1. Hi Laura, great to hear from you! You'd know about humidity from Africa. It plays havoc with my health so I'd gladly swap our summer for storms. I know, I'm queer but I really love the cold, living on the 'roaring 40's' in New Zealand didn't worry me at all, I'd just rug up and go out tramping and enjoy the rain, sleet, mud and wind. Heheh, swap you??

  11. Thanks Hannah :) I'm sorry it's hard to see the size, I'll do some more photos and include a matchstick next time. The miniature pot holder is just slightly under 3/4" square.

    1. I do see it's tiny, but it's so hard to believe its THAT small =) When you see the "real" thing beside the small one you really get how small it is =) Amazing how you can crochet that small =)
